Class Teacher
Full time
Fixed term for 12 months
Darwen St James’ is a Church of England Academy, which is at the heart of the Parish of St James’ Lower Darwen, St Paul’s Hoddlesden & our own church, St James’, Over Darwen. We serve a local community catchment and area of high deprivation. As a “good” school, Ofsted 2011, we took leadership of our local Chapels Children’s Centre in 2012, and established our own Nursery Classes, for children 2-4 years. We became an Academy within Cidari (Blackburn Diocese Multi Academy Trust) in October 2014.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and outstanding practitioner to join our happy and supportive school community.
Inspected in Autumn 2017, the Academy retained its “good” Ofsted judgement, demonstrating continual improvement. Strengths were leadership at all levels, pupil progress, our creative curriculum and pupils’ personal development.
The team at St James’ is dedicated to fulfilling our vision,
''Our Academy delivers a purposeful curriculum through its living Christian faith. We nurture ambition in all our learners in order for them to become positive citizens of Tomorrow''.
